Do you want to get more out of your phone's digital camera? Adults and seniors are invited to learn the basics of smart phone photography and video recording at this technology training workshop led by Robert Michelson of Photography by Michelson, Inc. 


Instructor Biography:

Bob Michelson of Photography By Michelson, Inc. based in Braintree, MA has been a professional photographer and videographer since founding his company in 1974.

Michelson is a published underwater and wildlife photographer and videographer who have been photographing wildlife above and below the water for 47 years.  He is a PADI Dive Master, a Specialty Instructor in Underwater Photography, Videography, and Naturalist.  His photography and articles have appeared in numerous regional and national magazines including Natural History, National Geographic, Field and Stream, Montana Outdoors, Pennsylvania Boat & Fish Magazine, Delaware Outdoors, Highlights for Children, Cape Cod Magazine, The Fisherman, B.A.S.S., Montana Outdoors, Texas Parks and Wildlife, TROUT, The NY State Conservationist, Northern Woodland, Virginia Wildlife, Wyoming Wildlife, Range magazine, New Hampshire Wildlife Journal, Northeast Dive News and the Oxford Encyclopedia, England as well as numerous books.,

Michelson is a monthly columnist for Coastal Review Online, a North Carolina news organization, providing species life history profiles and environmental news stories and photos pertinent to coastal North Carolina waters, as well as a monthly columnist in The Fisherman Magazine, providing species profile stories.  He is also  frequent contributor to Natural History Magazine, having six feature stories published in this prestigious science journal over the last five years.

Video footage and programming produced by Michelson have aired on ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox and PBS affiliate stations, in addition to the Discovery, History and Science Channels’.  Footage is also playing at The New England Aquarium in Boston, The National Aquarium in Baltimore and The Smithsonian Institute.  Ripley’s used his video materials for “Believe It or Not”, and underwater footage was used as reference material for the Steven Spielberg film, “In-Dreams”.  He produced a series of short television segments for the World Fishing Network covering Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Maine.  Bob also produced a series of short educational videos for the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service on Anadromous fish and Brook Trout life histories and restoration projects across the Northeast.

Currently, he is providing a series of educational workshops and seminars to libraries and school districts across Massachusetts.
