Program Details
Seniors age 60+ meet for crafts and conversation at this monthly event!
This month participants will learn to make an Armenian-style za'atar spice blend and how to make recipes with it at home. Za'atar is a blend of savory herbs that is popular in many Middle Eastern cultures. Recipes vary from region to region and every from family to family. The workshop will include a discussion on how the Armenian diaspora created two distinct food cultures and language dialects between Eastern Armenians who fled the region during the Armenian Genocide and Western Armenians who were enveloped by the Soviet Union.
Supplies are limited and on a first come, first serve basis. Registration required. To register for this program, please contact Randolph Elder Services at 781-962-093, option 2 or stop by the front desk at the RICC between the hours of 8:30 AM and 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
This program and the "Let's Eat, Randolph!" project were made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
